How Peter’s views have changed over the last 8 years

This clip is from “Ask Me Anything” episode # 90 (Ep. # 411) of The Drive which was released on 10/12/26.

In the full episode, we cover:

-Why Peter still considers the ketogenic diet an effective tool in the right context—but no longer for the reason he once believed
-What Peter learned after three years of regular extended fasting, how it changed his view of fasting as a longevity intervention, and who may still benefit from prolonged fasts
-How GLP-1 agonists are changing the way people lose weight, and the guardrails Peter considers essential for using them
-Why Peter is less bullish on rapamycin than he once was, and how unresolved questions around dosing have changed the way he thinks about its use in humans
-How the latest evidence on liquid biopsies has—and hasn’t—changed Peter’s thinking, and why he still considers the technology far from proven
-How Peter’s thinking on Zone 2 has evolved over the years, particularly how the amount of time someone has to train changes the way he would prescribe it
-How Peter’s thinking on squats and deadlifts has evolved, when they still make sense, and when other exercises may offer a better risk-reward tradeoff
-Much more

  1. Changing your mind in public, and walking through exactly why, is rarer than it should be. The keto point lands: same tool, different reason, and the reason decides who it actually fits. Showing the reasoning instead of just the conclusion is what makes this useful.

  2. Dr. Attia has flip flopped on multiple recommendations because he’s a trend chaser. Greg LeMond’s mitochondrial-based academic book is all about the foundational biological principles and mechanisms, which is where Attia wants to be now. But because LeMond is foundational and mechanistic, his actionable advice is still validated! See the difference?

  3. Wrong!! The reason that people no longer trust you is that they found out that you failed in your duty of care to report a pedophile when you became aware of his behaviour. You instead joked with him about it and would drool over seeing him “withdrawal symptoms”. Lack of judgement much???
And that’s if we believe you were being genuine with him about you loving being with him while knowing he’s a pedophile. OR were you being disingenuous when you said those things to further your career??
Either way, NOT TRUST WORTHY ¯_(ツ)_/¯
