**Tesamorelin might be the most clinically proven fat loss peptide you’ve never heard of.** With over 800 patients studied in two Phase 3 clinical trials, FDA approval, and documented reductions in visceral belly fat of approximately 15–20%, this growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) analog has something most peptides don’t: substantial human clinical evidence.

But there’s a catch. Brand-name Egrifta can cost approximately **$11,000 per month**, and despite reducing dangerous visceral fat surrounding the organs, tesamorelin may barely change the number on your bathroom scale.

In this video, Dr. Alex Tatem breaks down the science behind tesamorelin (Egrifta / Egrifta WR), how it works, and whether its claimed benefits for belly fat, muscle growth, sleep, recovery, and liver health actually hold up against clinical research.

We cover the FDA clinical trials involving 806 patients, the difference between visceral and subcutaneous fat, growth hormone and IGF-1 signaling, tesamorelin vs sermorelin, CJC-1295 and ipamorelin, potential side effects, and the FDA regulations that help explain its staggering price.

**In this video, you’ll learn:**
– How tesamorelin affects visceral fat without necessarily reducing body weight.
– What two Phase 3 clinical trials actually found about abdominal fat loss.
– Whether tesamorelin builds muscle or primarily increases lean mass through other mechanisms.
– The evidence for potential sleep, recovery, and liver health benefits.
– How tesamorelin compares with sermorelin, growth hormone, CJC-1295, and ipamorelin.
– Why tesamorelin is classified as a biologic rather than a conventional peptide drug.
– The FDA approval, safety concerns, blood glucose effects, and legal complications surrounding Egrifta.

**QUESTION:** If a peptide could significantly reduce visceral fat, what would you pay monthly?

A: Under $200
B: $200–$500
C: $500+
D: $0 — I’ve got a treadmill and a grudge.

And comment **CJC** if you want a full breakdown of CJC-1295 and ipamorelin next.

Tesamorelin is a prescription medication FDA-approved for reducing excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. It is not approved for general weight loss. Results from these studies should not be assumed to apply to healthy individuals seeking cosmetic fat loss or muscle growth.

  1. I’ve been on the Tesa Train for approx 6 months. I’m a 51YO Firefighter and I can attest to that no increase in strength!! All the guys say I look jacked but I don’t feel any stronger. I have changed my bench workout to a 5×5 instead of going max 1-3 🤦🏽‍♂️ As far as dosing my Lab Rat started at 2mg/night and quickly had to titrate down to 1mg/night and recently have moved it up to 1.25mg. I have also tried a couple iterations of the Tesa/Ipa but don’t want keep those flood gates open all the time. All are grey market products………

  2. I’ve been using Pepfame’s Retatrutide for three weeks and the appetite control is actually insane. It’s not like other GLP-1s where you feel nauseous or can’t eat at all; it’s just this quiet voice that says "no thanks" to junk food. I’ve already dropped a few pounds without feeling deprived. Pepfame’s product is so clean that I haven’t had any side effects, which is rare for me.

  3. This is why scale weight is such a poor scorecard after 50. Losing visceral fat around the organs and liver while the scale barely moves can be the more important change for metabolic health — but it also means people need body-composition tracking, not just a bathroom scale, to know if anything is actually working.

  4. I have ran several cycles of Tessa. I work a day and night schedule. I will say, if I take it before I go to sleep, I sleep very hard and when I work out, I found I am not sore for several days. It cuts that time of soreness to one day.

I do not know if it builds muscle, but I find I gained a lot of muscle during the time I use it. I swim and lift weights. I had to stop taking Reta because it destroyed my appetite.

    I am paying $55 for a 10mg vial and I dose .2 and .15 on a ML syringe.

  5. F Lilly! They’re doing things to make it harder on folks and reason people die not just for peptides but any drug so some adult or child needs. The dangerous part is this is one thing people on the left, middle, and right agree on and want to see them gone!

  6. Blah blah blah, a GH releaser is a GH releaser. Onl difference i have experienced is hunger. Yes, they help but are massively over rated by Tiktok/IG and now YT. I have tried them all and im dialed in on every aspects of my training. In any case you need to learn how to buy peptides if you are paying that much. Do pay more than 3$ an mg.

  7. Hello, I am an obese individual; I take Reta and Mots-C, and I also have a fatty liver. Would it be okay to add something else to my current Reta + Mots-C regimen?

  8. I been on it for months and from what I see it works, amino club, nexgen, southernaminos are just a few places I tried all for about 65 a vial with a COA saying it’s Tesa, know you got me questioning 🤨

  9. For tesamorelin to be effective you need to take a much higher dose than you get from vials on the grey market. There are a lot of people just throwing their money away. I bought some once and realized when I was making the protocol that a $40 vial contained about 2 days worth of an effective dose. I won't spend $600/month on this stuff. You could always get the prescription stuff, you just need to contract aids.
